John Henry (1939-2007) died early on Tuesday 8th May. John was the Director of Netherhall from 1967-1970.

While we are all deeply saddened by this news, few people will doubt that his was a life lived to the full in the service of God and his fellow men. He was one of Britain's leading toxicologists and brought his expertise to bear in numerous poisoning cases. Obituaries and other newspaper articles rightly have pointed to his constant availability to answer media enquiries and his ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way. With all this he was extremely modest and self-effacing.

The picture below shows John in April 1972 in a get-together with St. Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei, of which he was a celibate member. He lived his vocation with deep fidelity in the service of the Church.
